I want so badly....

TO DECORATE this dang house!!  Oh my it is driving me nutsos!  Where do I start?  Which room?  What the heck is even my style?  Well I know I don't like the country theme (the reason I ripped down the wallpaper in the dining room, that plaid had to go)!  Wow, so that narrows it down!  SO I know I don't like country, then what do I like?  That's the problem, I love a little bit of everything!  I like stuff from very antique to super modern..just depends on what it is!  Ok, so far I have painted the foyer, formal living, and formal dining.  I am dying to decorate the formal living and dining so it looks presentable and I am just plain tired of having a huge empty room be the focal point when you enter the front door.  Don't get me wrong, I love our house, I feel like it is just not me therefor it is hard to decorate...if that makes sense?!  I know the house means a lot to Bryan (he and his dad gutted the house from top to bottom literally...every single room.  He loves it and if it were up to him we would have white walls, white furniture, and you guess it...everything white!  I grew up in a very cluttery (funeral-home like)  you know those ugly ass floral arrangements every which way you turned your head?  Yep, that was our house.  There wasn't a space that wasn't covered but a pointless trinket or ugly knick knack...yep, it was crazy.  Bryan on the other hand has always lived in very elegant homes that were nicely decorated and he is seriously anti knick knack and hates pictures on the walls..Sooooo...as you can see..things are a bit complicated!  Bryan's mom was over here last week and as I was cleaning my kitchen I looked over at her and said "oh my God, I am turning into my mother"  which is not good, not good at all!  Needless to say, I got rid of a lot of crap last week (at least 20 or so half burned candles but who's counting) and I trying to organize our house and make it feel warm and inviting but not necessarily busting out of the seams with pointless crap!  So y'all there is my dilemma.  I want to decorate my house, make it warm, beautiful, and inviting but in an elegant non-crowded way..Pinterest here I come..again...until school starts back..  I have been scouring stores, internet and looking high and low for that amazing piece I can't live without..I think I am just being too picky.  Please feel free to send any amazing ideas my way :)
