Presley is 6 months old and a little update :)

Happy Valentine's Day :)  It was a good day.  Presley is happy, healthy and such a blessing in my life.  Today was her 6 month appointment and she is super duper healthy.  She is 26.5 inches long and 17 lbs.  She is just like her mama in the fact that she carries all of her weight in her lower half.  I love it :)  I am so thankful that she is just so healthy.  I am proud to say she has never had an ounce of formula and been such a great breastfeeder.  She won't even take a bottle..Such a little piglet :)  I can't help but to just want to kiss on her and love on her all day everyday.  The way she smiles is contagious.  Her laugh melts my heart and I must just say I am absolutely smitten with her.  She has her mommy and daddy wrapped right around those little chubby fingers but I don't see a darn thing wrong with it. :)
On a different note, I have been a little down today.  Not one person in my family has called me in a very long time.  I feel like the only way I talk to anyone is if I make the effort.  Which is frustrating.  Now it still doesn't surprise me that my dad hasn't called or made the effort with his grandaughter but I feel lately that not even the people I count on the most have bothered with me.  I get it.  I know you work full-time and extremely busy but you can't take 10 minutes out of your day to call and see how Presley is.  I guess you could say I am a little irritated.  I know this is sad to say but I have never really been able to 100% completely depend on anyone in my family.  Sure, they say they are going to do things or come visit, but never come through.  Hell, when Pres was born Bryan's dad flew 2,500 miles for 24 hours just to meet Presley and yet almost all of my family hasn't even met Pres and I have even been to GA twice but people are too busy.  Sad.  I don't know why it hasn't bothered me lately, but it really bothered me today for some reason.  Just venting.  I swore I wouldn't let this bother me anymore but today it is and it makes me mad.  I just look at my relationship with my daughter and I want nothing more than for us to have a close relationship.  I could never imagine not talking to her everyday or knowing exactly what is going on in her life.  I could never imagine not knowing what she is going to school for or not knowing every single detail of her life.  I feel as though sometimes no one in my family has a damn clue about me.  It's sad.  Anywyas, I feel better. not really.  I would be lying if I said I was but I am going to do what my husband tells me to do..to just let it go.  I can't change it and I can't control it so why let it bother me.  Right?!

  1. Presley is so darn cute! And good job with the breastfeeding, Clayton is almost 19 months and is still going strong :)

And I know how you feel about your family, I'm 10 minutes away from mine and I hardly ever see them or talk to them. It's frustrating but you can't blame yourself, they are the ones missing out on you and your beautiful daughter. Maybe soon they'll get a clue and start coming around.
